Excellent on line training for professionals, working with people with diabetes. The course saves progress so you can complete when convenient (you have to log in). Lots of additional information and resources. Good for learners or as a refresher course. follow this link:

Since the coronavirus we are all having to communicate with our service users by phone or video call rather than face to face which is difficult for SU’s with hearing loss. This is an excellent 40 minute video for health and social care providers on improving hearing access.

Hello All - jut wondering how fellow Rehabs are managing during Lockdown. At Sight Service (Gateshead and South Tyneside) we are working from home, however are continuing acceptance of new referrals (albeit with a telephone assessment).  Staff at Sight Service have taken equipment home to distribute to both new and current clients to ensure on-going support.  As a Rehab I am making (L and XL print) task sheets to help those clients (and those supporting them) with DLS and O&M. Our Lead Optom is also making a video to help with those needing advice on use of magnification.  If anyone is interested I'll see it it's up and running.  Take care for now.

A Cambridge PhD candidate is currently undertaking research investigating the challenges relating to the management of vision loss. The plan is to create an online intervention/programme to enhance and support the well-being of people experiencing vision loss.  ( This would not be a replacement for face-face treatment already available. It will also be designed so as not to conflict with any pre-existing charitable services, in fact, most charities will be promoted within the intervention. The intention is that this online intervention will be supplementary to what is currently available.)

They are looking for ROVIs to provide views and feedback on the modules presently being considered for inclusion in the intervention.

All responses will be completely anonymous and no views or opinions that you express will be attributed to any individual or institution.
